Jack's Blog
March 09: Jack in the box recording studios will soon be finished! It's been a while coming but it will be worth the wait. Check out the photo archive to peek behind the scenes of the studio under construction. The studio has been built to be as environmentally friendly as possible with thoroughly unusual but technically perfect soundproofing using 150 bales of straw and almost 100% recycled materials throughout. reclaimed solid oak floor and an 8 meter high ceiling.
I'm already working but still some building to do!
August 09: Things are warming up at Jackinthebox studios. Having just secured a job writing the music for an Adidas world cup sting. (5 seconds of music on the end of each commercial break) i have been able to invest heavily in all the microphones i've always wanted! Coles 4038! another beyer M160! pair of calrec condensors! This may not mean much to you but it basically means the quality just went up.
John Martin's jazz quartet were in on monday to test out the acoustics of my live room.
A succesful experiment which highlighted a couple of issues i have to address with the room acoustic treatment. it's almost perfect now.
Chris from the Heavy has been laying down some drums recently and i've got thew horns section from Superluckies in soon...
August 2009:
My hand and guitar playing is appearing in a short ident for channel 5 which is being aired at the moment. You can watch it here:
http://www.smoke-mirrors.com/smweb/online_reels/deconstruct_5/
Dec 2009:
I've just come back from a tour of europe with 'the Heavy' which was very well recieved.
Getting ready for a few shows and an appearance on the david letterman show in new york in january!
I've also got Dan from the heavy in for some recording in early january.
April 2010:
Been touring the USA, europe and the UK with the heavy with great success but now finally back in the studio recording a football hit for the world cup and an EP for Pilots at Sea which is shaping up nicely.
I've just installed a 30 input Cadac A type console and a Mytek and RME convertors which upped the quality of my output considerably. Pictures coming soon.

About Jack In The Box Studios
About Jack in the Box Recording Studio
Jack in the Box is a recording studio in North London with recording space for live bands as well as voiceover recording and electronic music production facilities.
The studio is home to a wide selection of vintage and contemporary equipment with a spacious daylit live room. The comfortable, friendly space has been set up to help you achieve a great acoustic recording efficiently and enjoyably.
Great amps, beautiful vintage and modern electric and acoustic guitars, basses, a grand piano and lots of other toys to play with are all set up and ready to go so bands can record while they're still excited. No spending a day getting a kick drum sound or drummers getting bored and tired out before the engineer has hit the record button.
Having been on both sides of the recording process, musician, producer-engineer and proprietor, Jack Reynolds is able to understand the needs of musicians and also how to deliver a mastered record for a sensible price in today's market. An amazing team of musicians is also available for all manner of productions.
